Main information of the event
"The show must go on"
Academic Part
The academic part of the event is very important, so all the participants are invited either to make an oral presentation or a workshop, as well as the presentation of a poster if they want.
About what theme? Both bachelor's and master's theses, as well as research projects and topics of scientific interest are welcome too.
To make easier the allocation of your presentations, we will divide the week by themes that will include the works that are related by their biological branch.
Of course, the presentation can be applied to biotechnology, biomedicine, etc.
In the case of workshops, topics of interest and general scientific debate are welcome.
The participation of professors and researchers is also scheduled to give a lecture or a workshop, showing the Spanish contribution to scientific fields.
Excursions
In order to have a deeper immersion into science, we want to offer scientific tourism in Madrid, for that reason, we have thought half-day excursions such as the Royal Botanical Garden, Science & Technology Museum and the Natural Sciences Museum. All the details will be announced as we confirm all of them to the participants. We also think that visit natural spaces such as Retiro Park or La Casa de Campo are a good idea to review the cuantity of biodiversity that Madrid has.
Social Part
Due to the expected participation of students from different countries and cultures, presenting each a piece of their culture seems to us a very good idea, is therefore part of the social part of the event.
Where am I from?
It is a meeting place for all the participants, each day the participants from the same country make a small sample (sketch, representation, typical food and drink degustation, typical customs, dances, etc.) of the culture of their home country.
Young BM Field Championships
It is a tradition to have a bioosciences competition to unite all participants under this enormous subject. This edition the competition will take place in Retiro Park.
Young BM ¡Descubriendo Madrid!
Obviously, it is good to know the host city, and doing it in a social way is essential to enjoy and have a 360º experience.
